BIRTH CERTIFICATE :
Q.

What is the procedure for getting a birth certificate (BC) attested?

A.

Either the BC holder or one of the parents in the case of a child needs to visit the consulate between 0800 and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday), along with the following:

 

 

  • Passport in original

     

     

  • Original birth certificate attested by the Notary Public of the concerned district and counter signed by the Home Department of the concerned State/Union Territory, along with its photocopy.

     

     

  • Photocopy of the parents’ passports in the case of child. The photocopy must include the first page, the last page and the page having the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Sworn affidavit in the prescribed format, along with its photocopy.

     

     

  • In case the visa of the person whose birth certificate is to be attested, has been issued by authorities in Sharjah, Ajman, UAQ, RAK or Fujairah.

    How much time does it take to get the attested documents delivered?

    All documents are returned the same day before 1300 hours.

    DIVORCE PAPERS :
    Q.

    What is the procedure for getting divorce papers attested?

    A.

    The applicant needs to visit the between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passport in original

     

     

  • Divorce issued by a competent court in India by the Home Department of the concerned State or Union Territory.

     

    In case the divorce decree has been issued by authorities in Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman and Fujairah, the divorce papers need to be first attested by the Foreign Office of the concerned Emirate.

    How much time does it take to get the attested documents delivered?

    A.

    Attested documents are returned the same day before 1300 hours.

    Is there any fee for this service?

    A.

    DRIVING LICENSE :
    Q.

    What is the procedure for getting a driving license attested?

    A.

    License holder need to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday)along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passport in original alongwith

     

     

  • photocopy of the fist page, last page and the page containing the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Original driving license, along with its photocopy.

     

     

  • Sworn affidavit, along with its photocopy, in the prescribed format to be signed in the PRESENCE of the consular officer.

    EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATES :
    (Including Transfer Certificate)

    Q.

    What is the procedure for getting educational certificates attested?

    A.

    The certificate holder needs to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the original passport and a photocopy thereof.

    If the certificates emanate from India before presenting them before the Indian Consulate those need to be attested by:

     

     

  • Ministry of External Affairs, Patiala House, Talag Marg New Delhi and the Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi.

     

    In the case of transfer certificates issued by educational institutions in India at Higher Secondary level (Class XII) or below, those need to be attested by District Education Authorities of the concerned State or Union Territory.

    In the case of certificates issued by Universities on other Institutions of higher learning those need be attested by EITHER:

     

     

  • Department of Education in the Ministry of Human Resources Department, New Delhi AND the Consular Section, Ministry of External Affairs, Patiala House, New Delhi.

     

     

  • The Education Officer of the Education Department of the concerned State/Union Territory.

    MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE :
    Q.

    What is the procedure for getting a marriage certificate attested?

    A.

    The certificate holder and his/her spouse need to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Original passports, along with photocopies.

     

     

  • Original marriage certificate attested by the Notary Public of the district concerned and the Home Department of the concerned State or Union Territory, along with its photocopy.

     

     

  • Sworn affidavit, along with its photocopy, in case the visa is issued by an authority in Ajman, Sharjah, UAQ, RAK or Sharjah.

     

     

  • Original passport of the deponent, along with the photocopy of the first page, the last page and the page having the current valid resident visa.

    What is the procedure for getting a power of attorney attested?

    A.

    The executant needs to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passports in original, along with a photocopy of the first page, the last page and the page having the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Original power of attorney and a photocopy. The executant needs to sign the POA in the PRESENCE of the consular officer.

     

     

  • A photograph of the executant needs to be affixed on the last page of the power of attorney.

    A.

    The person making the declaration needs to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passport in original along with photocopy of the first page and last page and also the page containing the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Sponsorship declaration in the prescribed format and its photocopy. This has to be signed in the PRESENCE of the consular officer.

     

     

  • Salary certificate of the sponsor/L.L.C.

     

     

  • Proof showing the relationship of the sponsor with the sponsored.

    The deponent need to visit the consulate carrying your original passport between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passport in original along with Photocopy of the first page, the last page and the page containing the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Original affidavit and its photocopy. These documents are to be signed in the PRESENCE of the consular officer.

    What is the procedure for getting a Will executed?

    A.

    The executant needs to visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday) along with the following documents:

     

     

  • Passports in original, and photocopy of the first page, the last page and the page containing the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Original will and its photocopy. These documents need to be signed in the PRESENCE of the consular officer.

    Q.

    Are there any other requirements?

    A.

    Yes, presence of TWO Indian Nationals known to the executant, to act as witnesses along with their original passports need to be present.
    Photocopies of the passports of the two witnesses (first page, last page and the page containing the current valid resident visa) are also required.

    What is the procedure for getting other documents, which are not already covered in this list above, attested?

    A.

    The person(s) whose signature is to be attested on the documents needs to carry his original passport(s) and visit the consulate between 0800 hours and 1100 hours (Sunday to Thursday).
    Along with this he needs to have the following documents with him:

     

     

  • Photocopy of the first page, the last page and the page having the current valid resident visa.

     

     

  • Original documents and its photocopy. These documents will need to be signed in presence of the consular officer, wherever applicable.

    Q.

    Are there any other requirements?

    A.

    Yes, if the visa of the applicant was issued outside Dubai, then the following additional documents are also required:

     

     

  • Sworn affidavit in the prescribed format for the relevant documents, along with its photocopy.

     

     

  • Photocopy of the pages of passport where the applicant’s details are given.
