In response to requests received from non-resident Indians, especially those living in the Gulf region, the Government of India has decided to waive the fees of AED 80 charged on attestation and processing of documents related to death of Indians abroad.

Henceforth, only a nominal fee of AED 2 will be charged for registration of death and provision of a certified copy of registration.

The Consulate General of India has commenced implementing the above decision from April 3, 2007.
