Amnesty 2007 Update

In connection with the Amnesty declared by the Government of UAE, the Consulate General of India would like to publicize the following information:

• As of July 26th, 2007, the Consulate has received more than 30000 applications for Emergency Certificates (ECs). It has printed over 20200 ECs.
• Out of the 40000 passports of Indian nationals received from the immigration authorities around 14600 passports have been distributed to the public.
• The Consulate would operate its collection centres in Indian High School, Dubai and Indian Association Sharjah on 28.07.07. (Saturday) from 9.00 am onwards.
