External Affairs Minister’s visit to Saudi – Arabia
17 April, 2008

External Affairs Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from April 19 to 20, 2008 at the invitation of his counterpart, His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Faisal.

Following on from HRH Prince Al-Faisal's own recent visit to New Delhi (February 2008), Shri Mukherjee's visit testifies to the close relationship that India and Saudi Arabia are bound by. In addition to other meetings during the visit, Shri Mukherjee's meeting with his Saudi counterpart will provide the opportunity for India and Saudi Arabia to discuss bilateral political, economic, commercial, consular and cultural matters and to build on their multifaceted partnership. The visit will also provide the opportunity to both sides to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest

Shri Mukherjee is accompanied on the visit by a high-level delegation, which also includes Shri C.R. Gharekhan, the Special Envoy for West Asia and the Middle East Peace Process and Shri N. Ravi, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
